Using this site

There are two things on this Web site:

  • Stuff to read
  • Things to do

There’s less to read than in a regular textbook, because it’s doing that really makes the difference. However, you should read, and think about what you’re read.

There are exercises. Do them.

This site doesn’t dump truckloads of facts on you. It’s about the core things you need, so you have time to do the exercises. There’s a downside to that. Sometimes you’ll want to do things with Drupal that aren’t covered here. You’ll need to look them up yourself.

Buy a Drupal 8 book, maybe one from this page.

You might think, “No worries, bro. I’ll Google everything.” That will work sometimes, but other times you’ll get bad advice, or advice about old versions of Drupal. Wasted time, frustration, kick, prison, shank, die.

Get a book that’s been checked out by a review team. Make life easier.
